Yikes, I've Been Nominated!

Hi guys, I was just nominated for this by Jill at Life After College.  Actually I've received it vicariously in a sense, as it was for the post below in which I hosted a piece from my wife Sandy's blog.  But as someone who absolutely loves attention (as Sandy will attest to) I'm very pleased and quite flattered to get it.  Thanks Jill!!
There's an interesting trend developing here.  First I received the Sugar Doll Award from my very dear friend Jennifer Fabulous.  Then I get this Beautiful Blogger Award.  And lately I find I've been taking more interest in women's fashion.  These are things that happen when you're surrounded by women.  It's a hardship, but I think I can learn to deal with it somehow.  :)
Plus I take consolation in knowing I have no desire to actually wear the clothes myself, so I think I'm okay. Being misunderstood here= epic fail.

Okay, I've had a few awards before but I think this is the first time I'm playing by the rules.  They are:

1) Thank the person who nominated you for this award.
2) Copy the award and place it on your blog.
3) Link to the person who nominated you for this award.
4) Tell us 7 interesting things about yourself.
5) Nominate 7 bloggers.
6) Post links to the 7 blogs I nominate.

Here are 7 things about me:

1.  I've never drank a cup of regular coffee in my life, don't like the taste.  Yet I have a shot of espresso every morning. Go figger.

2.  I once had a lost deer find its way into my first-floor office and walk up behind me at my desk.  True story.

3.  I'm starting to think all my years of studying in school would have been better spent pursuing psychology.  Now I read it for personal interest.

4.  I lost my virginity in my early twenties to a girl who was five years younger, in the back seat of my own car which I later sold to my mom.  After that I couldn't sit in the back without remembering that steamy summer night parked by the river.  The fact that my mother now owned that car was kind of..icky.  But I was just thankful I was able to get the handprints off the windows. If she only knew...

5.  I'm a night owl and would stay up to 3am every night if I could.

6. I believe the highest honour I can be paid is to have someone take me into their confidence.

7.  I occasionally produce music on my computer when the mood strikes me.

Okay, the seven bloggers I nominate are:

1. The Happy Cactus
2. Oh Missy Me
3.  I am the Walrus
4.  I Know, Right
5. Melanie's Randomness
6. One Long Road
7.  Little Loves

and four more, just because I can:  Queen of Shiba
                                                       Leah
Language is Wine Upon the Lips
                                                      Marley and Me

  1. I just watched Ed Wood, so the whole desire to wear women's clothing thing cracked me up. ^_^

Congrats, and I love two of your nominees! Great ladies.

P.S. Way to go night owl. It is currently 2:13AM here in Alabama, and I have to be up at 7. :O

  5. Barry, thanks for the nomination! Also I love this post because I too love learning little random things about people. And it's also fun to see how different we all are, and yet how similar.... And congrats on the Beautiful Blogger award!!! Keep up the good work. :)

  6. I'm a night owl also, it's not always a good thing when you have work early every day :/ I'm still in college mode of staying up late, even 2 years after graduation

  7. Aww thank u!! A deer got in your office?? I don't know if I'd laugh or cry or scream my head off it that happened to me. Cheers to Night Owls!! I'm guilty of that too! =)

  8. Bar! Thanks so much for the award. I'll be doing this as soon as I can.

What interesting facts! A deer came up behind you at work!? Hilarious! I have them all over my yard and neighborhood. We live close to the mountains so I see them on a regular basis but never a face to face situation.

and I am with you on the regular coffee. Never got the right feel for it. Give me a white chocolate mocha or an iced vanilla latte and you have yourself a happy lady!

  9. A deer in your office?! Talking to goats?! There needs to be a reality show about your life, Barry. Like, on Animal Planet or something. Hehe! :P
Congrats on the award, although I must say I am not surprised. Your blog is amazing! I'm glad more people are realizing it.
Thank you for passing along the award to me!

  10. Barry, I thought I wasn't included but at least you added me in the PS. Hahaha! Thanks a lot for sharing this award. You know how much I love you my friend. You are one person I can truly confide to. But the deer, what's with that deer? He loves you too. Hahaha!

PS...I am not a coffee lover myself. I start my day with a tall glass of iced fruit juice.

  11. Can't believe I was dissed by my best friend (sniff, sniff) Where's the Kleenex? I didn't even make it to the P.S.
RE #4 Barry Fact: Did you clean the back seat at least before you sold it to her? ;)

  14. Hey Barry!

Thanks so much for your comment, I'm sorry to hear about your lousy NYE but hopefully you've had some crackers since then to make up for it :-D

In regards to your comment about The Rat, I don't really think of guys like this as 'men'. I don't know how guys become Rats or what happened to them to make them like that but I really hope that my Rat in particular gets a good dose of his own medicine one day

  15. Aw, thank-you so much. I'm keeping a close eye out for him ;-)

Yes, I totally disagree with generalizations. I don't like it when guys do it to girls so I wouldn't label someone purely on their sex. A guy needs to prove himself a man but a girl also has to prove herself a lady. The Rat is just a shallow, self-centred little boy.
